Athens meeting sets the stage for SynGRID’s next phase

The 3rd General Meeting of the SynGRID project took place on 8th of April, at Impact Hub Athens, hosted by the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS). The meeting brought together representatives from all partner institutions, including IRI UL and Petrol (Slovenia), ICCS (Greece), Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing Zagreb (FER) and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (FERIT) (Croatia).

The full-day meeting provided a valuable opportunity for collaboration, progress review, and planning of next steps. A key focus was the upcoming SynGRID Summer School, which will be held in Ljubljana from May 12–16, 2025. The summer school will gather participants from across Europe for an immersive programme on energy systems, innovation, and collaboration.

Partners also discussed ongoing research activities, the mapping of tools and good practices, and future funding opportunities related to sustainable energy and regional development. Progress from the first year of joint research was reviewed, alongside preparations for upcoming training workshops and deliverables.

The meeting concluded with coordination of dissemination efforts and planning for the first SynGRID Showcase event. SynGRID continues to move forward with strong cooperation among partners and a shared commitment to building smarter, more sustainable energy systems across Europe.
