SynGRID Project Kick-off Meeting: Pioneering Synergies in Low-Voltage Grid Management
In May, the SynGRID project celebrated its official launch with a Kick-Off meeting held on the 8th of May at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. This gathering marked the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at advancing low-voltage grid management through innovative synergies across different countries.
The SynGRID project brings together a diverse consortium of partners, including Petrol Group from Slovenia, The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems from Greece, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek, along with the University of Zagreb from Croatia. The project is coordinated by the IRI UL – Institute for Innovation and Development of University of Ljubljana.
The meeting provided an opportunity to establish connections and outline the project’s framework. Representatives from Slovenia, Greece, and Croatia convened to discuss goals, align objectives, and distribute tasks. The event was further supported by the online participation of Project Officer Agne Dobranskyte-Niskota from the European Research Executive Agency (REA), who offered valuable insights on Horizon Europe & Synergies Action, essential grant management tips, and conveyed her best wishes for the project’s success.
The SynGRID project officially started on May 1, 2024, and aims to enhance institutional and regional innovation by capitalizing on outcomes from previous H2020 and Horizon Europe projects. It also focuses on fostering transparent knowledge sharing to strengthen collaboration across countries and leveraging existing solutions by introducing them into new markets to address current challenges effectively.
The SynGRID project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, emphasizing the EU’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration across its member states. The project, under Grant Agreement ID: 101160145, has a total cost of €1,170,375.00, fully funded by the EU. The project will run until April 30, 2027.
The SynGRID project represents a significant advancement in low-voltage grid management, drawing on the collective expertise of its partners to achieve meaningful progress in the field. Further updates on the project’s progress and achievements will be shared as the initiative advances.
