SynGRID Research Presented at the 25th International Symposium INFOTEH in Jahorina
Researchers from SynGRID partner institutions presented a new joint paper at the 25th International Symposium INFOTEH, held on 18–20 March 2026 in Jahorina, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The symposium, co-sponsored by IEEE, is one of the leading regional gatherings for experts in electrical engineering, information technologies, and energy systems.
The paper, titled “The Optimal Bidding Strategy of EV Aggregators on the Electricity Market”, is a joint contribution from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (FERIT), and the Institute for Innovation and Development of the University of Ljubljana (IRI UL), demonstrating the active research collaboration at the core of the SynGRID project.
The work explores how electric vehicles (EVs) can be aggregated to participate in day-ahead electricity markets, contributing to the flexibility of power systems increasingly challenged by renewable energy integration. Using a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) optimization model, the authors investigated how parameters such as battery state of charge (SOC) limits, charging and discharging power, and stored energy affect the financial profit achievable through energy arbitrage.
This work connects directly to SynGRID’s mission of improving the management and controllability of low-voltage grids through smart integration of distributed energy resources. Future work will explore the provision of flexibility services by EV aggregators.
